Get Involved
Serving alongside others at Midtown is a great way to use your gifts AND make new friends. Email us here to let us know where you’d like to serve!
Sunday Mornings
Set-Up & Take Down: Help ready our worship space for the service (setting up chairs). Make coffee. Set out the Welcome Tale and Midtown Kids table. Prepare Communion trays and baskets.
Greeting: Be the first to say “Welcome to Midtown”, handing out bulletins at the door as people come in for worship.
Music: Whether singing or playing an instrument, volunteer with others to help lead our singing.
Children’s Ministry: Volunteer to teach Children’s Sunday School, staff the Nursery during worship, or help with the annual Easter Egg Hunt, VBS, and other special Children’s Ministry events (all pending a mandatory background check).
In Our Community
Loaves & Fishes: Loaves & Fishes is our community’s ‘soup kitchen’, feeding the hungry or otherwise food insecure. Midtown serves the meal at Loaves & Fishes the second Friday of each month. Sign up to serve at the link in the Midtown Minute email, either to provide a food ingredient for the meal or to serve in person on Midtown’s appointed date.
ELL Class (English Language Learners): Join with other Midtown folks at the Senior Center on Monday nights, 6:00-7:30pm, as we help Spanish-speaking students (vast majority are Spanish-speaking) learn English. No prior experience necessary. Volunteers serve as facilitators in small groups, while teaching up front is handled by class leaders.
ForColumbia: Each year, on the last Saturday in April, Midtown participates with other area churches in the “ForColumbia” day of service to those in our community with tangible needs, whether individuals, families, or local non-profits.
